Cyber & IT Pros For A Secure Future
Secure and Resilient Future Foundation (SRFF) is a non-profit organization representing cyber security professionals, technology experts, tinkerers, and consumer rights advocates. SRFF works to advance the public interest in a software-driven world: promoting knowledge, practices and policies that facilitate meaningful and consequential cybersecurity work and foster secure, transparent, resilient, and sustainable technology ecosystems.
Issues:
When Smart Devices Go Dumb
As the Internet of Things ages, a gap has emerged between the useful life of smart, connected goods and the willingness of manufacturers to support the software they run on. The result: smart products costing hundreds of dollars have been “bricked” within years or even months of hitting the market. SRFF is taking on the problem of “bricked and abandoned” devices, advocating for new rules and standards around “end of life” decisions for smart products that protect consumers, businesses and the planet.
Giving Cyber A Seat At The Table
Digital transformation is remaking industries and economies. But with that transformation comes new risks: from hacks of critical infrastructure to data theft to anti-competitive practices that skew marketplaces and raise costs. As policy makers weigh rules, regulations and guidelines that promote cyber security and competitiveness, SRFF is working to win cybersecurity pros a seat at the table.
